About

For over two decades, our founder has worked at the intersection of philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, and community care — administering hundreds of grants a year, shaping funding policy toward greater equity, and training thousands of nonprofit professionals across rural and urban communities.

That work has been shaped by the understanding that communities thrive when resources are shared rather than hoarded, and when decision-making stays close to the people most affected. It has also been shaped by ongoing relationships within Hawaiian community organizations, where indigenous values of reciprocity, collective care, and connection to place inform how partnership and support should work.

Connecting Community exists to bring that same approach to the nonprofits and communities we serve — practical strategy, delivered with cultural humility and care.

We’re committed to making our services accessible.
